Who is Super Bowl bound?
If the fans are right, the New England Patriots and the New York Giants will face off in Super Bowl 46. In a Poll Position national scientific telephone survey we asked which AFC team and which NFC team will win this weekend and advance to the Super Bowl. In the AFC championship game, 67% of NFL fans picked the Patriots versus 27% who selected the Baltimore Ravens. In the NFC championship game, the New York Giants were the choice of 50% versus 44% picking the San Francisco 49er’s.
By choosing the Patriots and the Giants, the fans seemingly would like to see a rematch of Super Bowl XLII. That game, played in 2008, is considered one of the most exciting Super Bowls ever. The Giants stunned the Patriots 17-14, scoring the winning touchdown with only 35 seconds left in the game. The Giants victory ruined a quest for a perfect season by the heavily favored Patriots.
