Tebow endorsement help?
Nearly 20% of Americans who say they will vote in the Republican presidential primary say their vote could be influenced by a candidate endorsement from Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.
In a Poll Position national scientific telephone survey, 58% said they would not be more inclined to vote for a GOP presidential candidate endorsed by Tebow, 18% said they would be more inclined, 24% did not have an opinion.
There is no word about whether Tebow will endorse a presidential candidate this year.
Among Republicans, 19% did say an endorsement by Tebow would make them more inclined to vote for a GOP presidential candidate, but 56% said they would not be, while 25% offered no opinion.
African-Americans were most likely to be influenced by a Tebow endorsement with 34% saying they would be more inclined to vote for a GOP presidential candidate backed by the QB, however 61% said they would not, 5% had no opinion.
Poll Position’s scientific telephone survey of 1,179 registered voters nationwide was conducted January 15, 2012 and has a margin of error of ±3%. Among those there were 541 likely Republican Primary Voters with a MOE. +/- 4%. Poll results are weighted to be a representative sampling of all American adults.
