Up until midnight for 2012?
With New Year’s Eve almost here we wanted to know if you plan to stay awake through midnight to ring in the New Year. In a Poll Position national scientific telephone survey, 67% of Americans say they will stay awake through midnight, 25% said they will not, and 8% did not have an opinion.
Age was a big factor in determining who will stay awake and who will not. In the 18-29 year old age group, 87% said they will stay awake through midnight while only 9% said they would not. In the 65 and over age group 48% said they will stay awake through midnight while 41% said they will not make it through midnight to welcome in 2012.
Poll Position’s scientific telephone survey of 1,139 registered voters nationwide was conducted December 18, 2011 and has a margin of error of ±3%. Poll results are weighted to be a representative sampling of all American adults.
