Giving an electronic gift?
As you finish your holiday shopping we had a question for you. Do you plan on giving some type of electronic item as a gift to someone this Christmas or Hanukkah? In a Poll Position national scientific telephone survey, 44% of Americans said they plan on giving an electronic item as a gift, 38% said they do not, and 19% did not have an opinion.
Most likely to give an electronic item as a gift are Americans in the 30-44 year old age group with 62% saying yes, 28% said they do not plan to, 10% did not offer an opinion. Least likely to give an electronic item as a gift were Americans 65 and over with 19% saying they plan to, 63% do not plan to gie an electronic item as a gift, 19% did not have an opinion.
Men are more likely than women to give an electronic item as a gift with 47% of men saying they plan to give an electronic gift, 34% do not plan to, 20% offered no opinion. Among women, 41% said they plan to give an electronic item as a gift, an equal number, 41%, said they do not plan to give an electronic item as a gift. Eighteen percent of women did not have an opinion.
Poll Position’s scientific telephone survey of 1,024 registered voters nationwide was conducted December 08, 2011 and has a margin of error of ±3%. Poll results are weighted to be a representative sampling of all American adults.
