End “Occupy” protests?
With the “Occupy” protests advancing into their fourth month, we wanted to know whether Americans think it’s time for the demonstrations to end.
Our national scientific poll found a nation divided on the issue.
Republicans called for an end to the protests by a 76%-15% margin, Democrats called for them to continue 56%-22%, and independents favored the protests continuing by a narrow 44%-41% margin.
Overall, by a 47%-37% margin, Americans called for an end to the “Occupy” protests.
Poll Position’s scientific telephone survey of 1,098 registered voters nationwide was conducted December 13, 2011 and has a margin of error of ±3%.
