A new Poll Position-TV Newser national survey finds where most Americans turn for breaking news coverage: the TV news networks.
When we asked Americans their source for breaking news reporting, 58% cited the TV news networks, 17% news websites, 14% news radio stations, and 8% social media.
As TV Newser noted yesterday, Poll Position and TV Newser are teaming up for a periodic ongoing series of surveys on news media coverage and consumption. This is the first survey in that polling partnership.
The scientific telephone survey of 1,110 registered voters nationwide was conducted October 23, 2011 and has a margin of error of ±3%. Poll results are weighted to be a representative sampling of all American adults.
