Fall Classic winner?
The Rangers or the Cardinals. Which team do you think will win the World Series? We asked that question in our Poll Position national scientific telephone survey and 33% of you picked the Cardinals while 30% chose the Rangers. A large number, 37% did not have an opinion. Among those with an opinion, 52% went for the Redbirds while 48% think the Rangers will be the champions when all is said and done.
Men and women differed on the outcome. Among women with an opinion, 61% like the Cardinals to take it all while 39% are pulling for the Rangers. Men with an opinion are behind the Rangers by a 55% to 45% margin.
As with many things, Republicans and Democrats see the World Series having a different outcome. GOP baseball fans picked the Rangers to win it all by a 52% to 48% margin. It should be noted the Rangers were once owned by former President George W. Bush. Democrats like the Cardinals chances by a 56% to 44% margin. These choices are among those with an opinion.
Poll Position’s scientific telephone survey of 1,130 registered voters nationwide was conducted October 18, 2011 and has a margin of error of ±3%. Among those with an opinion, the base number is 661 with a margin of error of ±4%.
