69%: Iranian govt U.S. enemy

Most Americans believe the government of Iran is an enemy of the United States.

That view was expressed in a national Poll Position scientific survey conducted just hours after U.S. officials said they stymied an Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington and to bomb embassies of Israel and Saudi Arabia.

The poll found 69% of Americans saying the Iranian government is a U.S. enemy.  Fourteen percent disagreed, and 18% said they had no opinion on the question.

Poll Position’s scientific telephone survey of 1,090 adults nationwide was conducted October 11, 2011 and has a margin of error of ±3%.
