Electing Obama a mistake?

By a 50%-44% margin, registered voters say with the benefit of hindsight Americans made a mistake electing Barack Obama president, according to a national scientific Poll Position survey.

The partisan divide was predictable: Democrats felt Obama was the right choice by a 72%-19% margin, and Republicans felt Obama was the wrong choice by a 80%-17% margin.  Among independents, they felt Obama’s election was a mistake by a 50%-44% margin.

Young Americans – 18-29 year olds – felt Obama’s election was the right choice.  Older Americans disagreed.

Poll Position’s scientific telephone survey of 1,135 registered voters nationwide was conducted October 9, 2011 and has a margin of error of ±3%.
